Section 01

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how CapeMinds Solutions and Services Pvt Ltd. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you download, access, purchase, or use the mobile application NextSelf: Transformation Helper ("NextSelf", "App", or "Service").

NextSelf is an identity-based personal growth app. It helps users build identities, small actions, reminders, cues, reflection notes, and progress through local-first tools.

We designed NextSelf to be privacy-friendly. The App is intended to work primarily on your device without requiring an account, cloud sync, analytics, advertising trackers, or server-side storage. Your App content remains on your device unless you choose to export, share, or send it to someone else.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

Section 02

Section 03

Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to NextSelf and to any related support communications you have with us about the App.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, app stores, payment providers, cloud storage providers, messaging apps, device manufacturers, operating system providers, or other third-party services. Those services have their own privacy policies and terms.

Section 04

Information We Collect or Store

4.1 Information you create inside the App

The App allows you to create and store personal growth data on your device. This may include:

  • Identity names or descriptions
  • Habits, actions, or small steps linked to identities
  • Cues, situational cues, reminders, quotes, lessons, or source notes
  • Reflection answers or personal notes
  • Habit logs and completion history
  • Identity score, progress, and journey/timeline data
  • Notification preferences, reminder settings, snooze settings, or quiet-mode preferences
  • Backup files, if you choose to export them

This information is stored locally on your device. We do not automatically receive this information on our servers.

4.2 Information you provide when contacting us

If you contact us by email or through a support channel, we may receive your name (if provided), email address, message content, screenshots, files, logs, or technical details you voluntarily provide for troubleshooting. We use this information to respond to your request, provide support, improve the App, protect our legal rights, or comply with applicable law.

4.3 Backup files

If you use a backup or export feature, the App may create a backup file containing your local App data — including identities, actions, habit logs, cues, reflection entries, progress data, reminder settings, and export metadata. Backup files are created only when you choose to export them. The App does not automatically upload backup files to us.

⚠️ Important — Unencrypted Backups Current backup/export files are unencrypted. Anyone with access to your exported backup file may be able to read its contents. Please store backup files only in trusted locations and share them carefully.

4.4 Information automatically collected

In the current local-first version of NextSelf, we do not use analytics SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, advertising SDKs, advertising trackers, or backend services to automatically collect usage information from the App.

App stores, operating systems, payment processors, or device platforms such as Google Play may collect certain technical, purchase, device, or diagnostic information under their own privacy policies and terms. We do not control those platform-level practices.

4.5 Sensitive information

NextSelf is a personal growth app. Depending on what you choose to write, your local content may include personal or sensitive reflections about your habits, emotions, goals, routines, health-related activities, finances, relationships, productivity, or self-improvement. We do not require you to enter sensitive information. Please avoid entering information that you do not want stored on your device or included in an exported backup file.

4.6 App permissions

The App may request limited device permissions needed for its features:

🔔
NotificationsTo send local reminders, if you enable them.
📂
Files / file picker / share accessTo let you select, save, export, share, or restore backup files using your device.

You can manage device permissions through your device settings. If you deny a permission, some related App features may not work as intended.

Section 05

How We Use Information

5.1 Local App functionality

Information you create in the App is used locally to provide App features, including to:

  • Show your identities, actions, cues, reminders, and reflections
  • Record completions and small actions
  • Calculate local progress and identity strength
  • Show your journey/timeline and progress history
  • Support reflection prompts and comeback/restart experiences
  • Rotate active cues or reminders on the Today's Growth screen
  • Export and restore backups if you choose to use those features
  • Support reminders and notification settings where enabled

5.2 Support and communication

If you contact us, we may use the information you provide to respond to your question, troubleshoot issues, improve the App, maintain records, protect our rights, or comply with legal obligations.

Section 06

Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on your location, we may rely on one or more legal bases for processing information:

  • Consent — when you choose to provide information, enable reminders, export/share backup files, make a purchase, or contact us.
  • Performance of a service — when processing is necessary to provide App functionality you request.
  • Legitimate interests — such as maintaining, securing, supporting, and improving the App and responding to support requests.
  • Legal obligations — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.

Because the App is designed to work locally, most App content remains on your device and is not processed by us on a server.

Section 07

Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. In the current version, we do not share your local App data with advertisers, analytics providers, cloud sync providers, or backend services.

7.1 When you choose to share information

If you export a backup file, share App-related content, or send information through your device, you control where that file or content goes. Those third-party apps or services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

7.2 Service providers

If we use service providers for support, email, hosting, app distribution, payment processing through Google Play, or similar business operations, they may process limited information only as needed to provide those services.

7.3 Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, and the integrity of our services.

Section 08

Social Logins

NextSelf does not use social login in the current version.

Section 09

Payments and One-Time Lifetime Unlock

NextSelf may be free to install and may include a limited starter experience. Users may choose to make a one-time lifetime purchase to unlock the full App experience.

Payments are handled through Google Play Billing. We do not directly collect or store your credit card, debit card, UPI, banking, or payment instrument details. Google Play may process purchase, payment, tax, refund, and purchase-related account information under Google's own privacy policy and terms.

If a purchase is completed, the App may store or verify purchase status locally or through Google Play Billing as necessary to unlock paid features and maintain access after reinstalling or changing devices, subject to Google Play Billing behavior and account availability.

Refunds, cancellations, and purchase-related issues may be handled through Google Play according to Google Play's applicable policies and processes.

Section 10

Notifications and Reminders

If the App includes reminders, it may ask permission to send notifications. Notifications may include identity, action, cue, or reminder text depending on your settings.

In the current version, reminders are intended to be generated locally on your device. You can control notification permissions through your device settings. Notification content may appear on your device lock screen depending on your operating system and device settings.

Section 11

Backup and Restore

The App may provide a manual Backup and Restore feature. This feature allows you to export App data into a backup file, save or share the backup file using your device, and restore data from a backup file.

Backup and Restore is designed for user ownership and data portability. The App does not automatically upload backups to our servers.

⚠️ Important When restoring a backup, the App may replace existing local data on your device with the data from the selected backup file. Please review restore confirmations carefully. Deleting the App does not automatically delete backup files stored elsewhere — you must delete those files separately.

Section 12

Data Retention and Deletion

12.1 Local App data

Data stored inside the App remains on your device until you delete it, reset the App, clear app data through device settings, uninstall the App, or restore another backup that replaces it. Because this data is local, we generally cannot access, delete, recover, or modify it for you.

12.2 Support communications

If you contact us, we may keep support emails or communications for as long as necessary to respond, maintain records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or improve the App.

Section 13

Security

We design the App to reduce privacy risk by keeping App content on your device and avoiding unnecessary server-side collection.

However, no method of storage or electronic transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, your App data, exported backup files, and any cloud storage, email, messaging app, or external location where you choose to save or share backups.

We recommend using device lock protection and storing backup files only in trusted locations.

Section 14

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or complaint to a data protection authority.

Because most App data is stored locally on your device, you can usually manage or delete it directly through the App or device settings. If you contact us for support or privacy requests, we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

For privacy requests, contact us at support@capeminds.com.

Section 15

Children's Privacy

NextSelf is intended for a general audience but is not directed to children. The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at support@capeminds.com, and we will take appropriate steps in accordance with applicable law.

Section 16

International Users

NextSelf may be available in multiple countries. Your use of the App may be subject to privacy laws in your country or region, including Indian data protection laws, GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable privacy and data protection laws.

Because the App is designed as a local-first app, most App content remains on your device and is not transferred to our servers. If you contact us, your communication may be processed in India or in the country where we or our service providers operate.

Section 17

United States Privacy Rights

Depending on your U.S. state of residence, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain data practices.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the current version.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us at support@capeminds.com.

Section 18

EEA, UK, and Swiss Privacy Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate personal data, request deletion, restrict processing, object to processing, request data portability, withdraw consent, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Most App data is stored locally on your device. For local App data, you can delete it directly from your device or through App features where available.

Section 19

Do-Not-Track Signals

Some browsers and mobile systems include "Do Not Track" features. Because there is no uniform industry standard for responding to these signals, we do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track signals.

NextSelf does not use web tracking, advertising tracking, or analytics tracking in the current version.

Section 20

Third-Party Services and Platform Providers

In the current version, the App does not intentionally use analytics, advertising, cloud sync, account login, AI processing, crash reporting, or backend data storage services.

The App may use platform or Flutter packages for functions such as local storage, file picking, sharing backup files, local notifications, opening external links, Google Play Billing, or app store distribution. These packages should be reviewed before release to confirm whether they collect, transmit, or process any user data.

Google Play, device operating systems, payment processors, email providers, cloud storage providers, and other third-party services may process information under their own privacy policies when you interact with them.

If third-party SDKs are added in the future, this Privacy Policy and the app store data safety disclosures will be updated before release.

Section 21

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.

If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
